After breakfast, we gathered at 9:00 sharp to go to Deepalaya, a local school trying to educate children that currently live in slums. We arrived and walked to the entrance of the school where we were met with a traditional greeting of a Bindi. We were taken to seats where we were welcomed by the councilor and headteacher. We watched two different performances from the children, we were then urged to join in with the traditional dance. We were then shown around some of the classrooms, it was eye-opening. We enjoyed our experience and donated the money we had raised towards the end of the term. After this, we drove to the Indian gates, took some photos, and moved on. We drove further into the central areas of Dehli to have lunch. For lunch, we had a selection of foods, ranging from Buttermilk chicken to Dahl. It was all delicious. We returned to the hotel and changed swiftly into our training kit and made our way back to the university ground to train again. The facilities were great and it was fantastic to play on grass wickets to help prepare for our upcoming games just before Abingdon arrived and the heavens opened. We got back on the bus and drove back. We took some time walking around the shops at the bottom of the hotel and bartering with the kind shop owners, for traditional Indian clothes and accessories.
