Day 4 started once again with a quick trip to the breakfast buffet before meeting in the hotel’s lobby for 08:30. Packed for the day’s match, we loaded our kit onto the coach and commenced the 30 minute drive through busy New Delhi. Upon arrival, we were met with an unplayable wicket thanks to last night’s rainy conditions and unfortunately the decision was made to return to the hotel and await for further information on the pitch later in the day. After a lazy few hours, by 12:30 we were back on the road and returning to play.

This time we were welcomed with a drier wicket and preceded our match with an nintense bowl off, with the opposition just edging a victory. Turan then won the toss and made the call to bowl with the damp conditions in mind. Our opening bowlers started well, with Charlie grasping a first wicket with a catch from turan. First change bowlers, Alex and Bobby, performed well but each wicketless. Following this pattern, Tom, Gabe and Jamie failed to break a strong opposition partnership. To finish the bowling, Turan and Charlie returned into the attack with strong death bowling resulting in two subsequent stumping for Max off Charlie. In the end, we restricted the opposition to a strong total of 174-3 due to a strong batting performance and errors in the field (including a dropped catch from social Captain himself).

Our batting demonstrated moments of high skill with Turan and Beard performing well towards the end. Unfortunately, the team fell short but much was learnt which we shall certainly take forward for future matches. The team returned to the hotel where we enjoyed dinner and a few more hours of leisure before bed.
